About Mile High Prep

Mile High Prep is a Denver-based spring football program for currently enrolled high school athletes seeking advanced coaching, structured practices, and competitive travel games.
The program is designed to supplement — not replace — high school football, allowing athletes to continue developing outside the fall season while maintaining eligibility for their school teams.

Mile High Prep operates in partnership with the UPSWING Foundation and is overseen by a leadership team with deep experience in youth development, athletics, and large-scale program operations. This structure ensures professional standards, athlete safety, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

The UPSWING Foundation provides administrative oversight, athlete safety protocols, scheduling infrastructure, insurance coverage, and program compliance. This ensures Mile High Prep operates with nonprofit accountability, transparency, and long-term stability.

Coaches & Staff

Mile High Prep’s coaching staff includes:
Former NFL players
Former NFL scouts
Division I and Power Five collegiate coaches
Colorado state-championship high school head coaches
Collectively, the staff brings decades of experience developing athletes for high-level competition.

Coaches specialize in position-specific development, football IQ, leadership training, and accountability. Many have coached or played at the college and professional levels, and several continue to coach at elite Colorado high schools.
Player Application & Eligibility

Athletes apply through the Join page. Applications are reviewed by the coaching and operations staff. Selected athletes are contacted with next steps related to evaluation, roster placement, and participation.

Athletes must be currently enrolled in high school (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) and are evaluated based on:
Football experience and positional skill set
Coach evaluation and on-field assessment
Positional and roster needs
Commitment, conduct, availability, and academic standing
Mile High Prep prioritizes athletes who demonstrate coachability, discipline, competitive mindset, and a strong work ethic, both on and off the field.

Season & Schedule

The Mile High Prep season typically takes place from March through May, including structured practices, competitive games, and select travel opportunities.

Season length and game count vary by year. Mile High Prep aims to play a minimum of two games per season, depending on competition opportunities and scheduling logistics.

Practices and home events are held at local high schools, community sports facilities, and public venues throughout the Denver metro area. Locations are finalized season-by-season and shared digitally.
High School & Other Sports

No. Participation in Mile High Prep does not affect an athlete’s eligibility to play for their high school team.

No. Mile High Prep operates outside of the CHSAA high school football season and follows applicable participation guidelines.

Yes. Mile High Prep supports multi-sport athletes and does not require athletes to give up other sports.

Practices and home events take place at local high schools, community facilities, and public venues throughout the Denver metro area. Previous years have been held at Foothill Sports Arena and Thunder Ridge High School.
Travel & Logistics

Depending on the season schedule, Mile High Prep competes exclusively against out-of-state opponents, with games held outside of Colorado. Travel expectations, itineraries, and supervision details are communicated to families well in advance.

Yes. Meals are provided during travel and away games, along with required turf or facility usage fees.

Yes. Overnight trips include clear expectations for curfews, conduct, supervision, and team policies, which are shared with families prior to travel.
